SquareMeal has announced the best restaurants in the UK. With two lists, one for London, SquareMeal’s London Top 100 highlights the capital’s best restaurants, as voted on by critics and diners. For foodies outside the capital, the second, SquareMeal’s UK Top 100, is the only one of its kind to really let the UK food scene shine.

Using a combination of thousands of reader votes and SquareMeal’s own expert reviews, the UK’s 100 Best Restaurants list is a true reflection of Britain’s beautifully varied dining scene – with everything from fine dining experiences to farm-to-table restaurants and gastropubs. Each restaurant is truly unique, but all have one thing in common: an unmissable menu.

The restaurant at Somerset Osip has established itself as the best restaurant in the UK. This farm-to-table gem is located in the village of Bruton and is owned by former head chef of London favorites Portland and Clipstone, Merlin Labron-Johnson.

The 22-seat restaurant is housed in a charming stone building that was once the village hardware store and brings top quality cuisine to this idyllic rural location.

Founding chef of Osip Merlin Labron-Johnson said:

“It’s a huge honor to be ranked #1 in SquareMeal’s Top 100 UK Restaurants. I’m so grateful to my team and the amazing local suppliers we work with who have been instrumental in securing of this distinction. I’m really proud that it was voted for by genuine and passionate people who love what we do at Osip, so it really means a lot.”

Chef Patron Chet Sharma has a very impressive CV, having earned a PhD in physics and worked at L’Enclume, Moor Hall and The Ledbury before opening BiBi last year.

Coming off the sidelines and into the spotlight, chef Chet Sharma’s first solo venture, BiBi, is a confident addition to Mayfair’s culinary scene. Having sensed a gap in the market for contemporary Indian cuisine prepared with the finest British ingredients, his menu offers plate after plate of vibrant dishes.

Chef Patron Chet Sharma shared:

“Winning this award is a huge achievement for us at BiBi and is even more special as we are still so early in our journey. It drives us to work harder, keep creating, innovating and caring for our customers as best we can. Thank you SquareMeal and our amazing team at BiBi.”
