The best boots in Terraria provide a major movement boost. Some of them allow you to glide in the air, further increasing bonuses from wings. Although most players eventually replace them with better accessories, they can be of great assistance when traveling long distances or jumping over chasms.
What’s even better, you can upgrade most of these items as the game goes on. They are especially powerful before getting their first wings.
1. Terraspark Boots

These are one of the best mobility items in the game and your main focus as you go through the game’s content. There’s a chance you’ll keep them until the very end, at least as a mobility item. Like most other accessories in Terraria, you’ll assemble them from previous ingredients.
The accessory also goes well with wings, further increasing your mobility. They excel in the underground as you start descending toward the bottom. On a few occasions, they might cause you a headache by preventing underwater exploration.
2. Hellfire Treads

Hellfire Treads are the final recipe for other boot branch. Players rarely buy them, as Terraspark Boots are a much better variation. The only thing that Hellfire Treads have, in comparison to Terraspark, is the fire trail visual effect.
Like all other accessories from this branch, Hellfire Treads are tailor-made for venturing underground. They provide 7-second immunity to lava, and if you combine them with four similar items, you can get a total immunity of 42 seconds.
3. Rocket Boots

Although this accessory is somewhat low-tier, the item is excellent when you first acquire it. You can buy them from Goblin Tinkerer for just five gold. In other words, they are available at the start of Harmode as soon as you finish the Goblin Invasion event.
According to the description, this accessory allows you to fly. In reality, this is a short one to two-second long jump. They are fantastic for avoiding fall damage, by pressing jump just as you’re about to hit the ground.
4. Frostspark Boots

Frostspark Boots are one of the two ingredients we use to create Terraspark. The item leaves a nice snowy effect behind when you fly around with them. Most notably, when you start running in a specific direction, they give you a boost of speed that lasts until you stop.
The movement on ice is also a nice benefit. Most people don’t appreciate this characteristic, but it makes your life that much easier within the Snow biome. Unlike Hellfire Treads, Lava Waders, and Flame Walker, they are much better in open areas.
5. Lava Waders

Given that this accessory is used to create Terraspark, it makes sense they are noticeably weaker. They don’t have the same mobility and speed, and they don’t allow you to fly in the air. Nevertheless, they are an amazing choice before you can finish the recipe.
Unfortunately, for many players, these are nothing more than transitional items. By the time you get all the ingredients, you’ll probably get something much better. Although the lava protection is still a nice benefit, you’ll likely have several Obsidian Skin Potions in your inventory, rendering the accessory useless.
