Physical Appearance[]

Baby is a humanoid clown animatronic that looks elegant and feminine.[1] Her white face is sleek and exquisitely sculpted, splitting down the middle.[2] Baby's limbs and body are segmented plates, their color iridescent.[3] Jessica says she looks like a mannequin.[4] Baby has a face painted with glossy red lips[5], rosy red cheeks, and a bright red nose. Her shiny, big round eyes are rimmed with long, black lashes.[6] Baby has two silky orange pigtails on the sides of her head.[7] The metal segments of her body are painted to look like a red-and-white costume, such as a red skirt that stick out at her waist.[8] Baby’s stomach can split open in the middle and shoot out an enormous mass of wires and prongs.[9]

Baby's face can splinter into triangular sections that life up and pull back, revealing her sleek and feminine endoskeleton face. Originally a twisted skeleton with contorted metal limbs and "burning" silver eyes, her endoskeleton face is described as being made of coils and wires, jagged prongs for teeth, metal lips, and bare black eyes than can glow silver.

To turn into Circus Baby, thin, sharp spines grow from Baby’s metal skin, each capped with a red knob and spaced a few inches apart, extending from her face, her body, and her arms and legs.[10] In this form, she is a gigantic, cartoonish child with green eyes too large for her face,[11] a painted white face, and round, circle cheeks and a triangle nose painted a garish pink.[12] Circus Baby's bright orange hair is tied up into two pigtails.[13]

Originally being Charlotte Emily's adult form, she has some notable differences from Charlie from the previous novels, who's the teen version. She is slim and tall, with shiny long brown hair that's darker than Charlie's.[14] Her black combat boots have heels, giving her a slightly taller appearance. John says her nose is too narrow, her cheeks are too hollow, her eyes are too far apart, her hairline is too high, and her eyebrows are at the wrong angle.[15] She also now wears makeup, such as red lipstick, and has confident and sophisticated gestures.[16] At the end of The Twisted Ones, she wears a bright red, knee-length dress and her hair is straight. Throughout the events of The Fourth Closet, she wears a variety of clothes, such as form-fitting dresses, a medium-length black skirt with a dark red, scoop-necked blouse, and a tight, short red dress. At the end of The Fourth Closet, she’s wearing a red V-neck shirt and a short black skirt, and her hair hangs in shiny waves.

Personality[]

She appears to be a evil at first, and her great acts are thought to be mostly acting. She generally comes across as a cruel, sad*stic, and extremely dangerous individual at first. It is refuted, though, when Baby admits that she is merely a desperate daughter seeking her father's approval and affection. She admits that she is disappointed and desperate[17], and she claims that both her father and Henry have treated her unfairly[18] (by neglecting her). In addition, she seems to hold a little hatred toward Henry (perhaps as a result of her father's doctrine[19]) and she had appears several times to be jealous of Charlie and even hate her (since her father constantly wants Charlie instead of her).[20][21][22][23]

History[]

The Silver Eyes[]

Baby makes an appearance through Charlie's "memories" as the silver-eyed endoskeleton. A young Charlie first saw the endoskeleton with silver eyes twitching in the corner of her father's workshop; unbeknownst to her not knowing it's true identity. Baby's endoskeleton later appears in one of Charlie's nightmares, chasing her around her childhood home until the endoskeleton is stopped by her father.

The Twisted Ones[]

At the end of the book, Baby, disguised as Charlie, pulls up to the diner where John, Jessica, Marla, and Arty were all grieving over the apparent death of Charlie. As soon as she enters, Marla and Jessica run up to the doorway to greet her. Arty seemed confused, and John watched for a steady moment. John didn't speak until Arty met his gaze. "That's not Charlie."

The Fourth Closet[]

Note: "Charlie" = Baby disguised as Charlie.

Appearing in Chapter 2, Baby arrives at a junkyard to try to find Charlie, since the metal scraps of her destroyed home were there, along with Charlie herself, as there were screams reported among the scrap the day before. She asks Bob, the one who runs the junkyard, to take her there. Later, "Charlie" finds John as he was about to leave the gathering at Clay's house. "Charlie" asks him why he doesn't talk to her, to which John replies that he doesn't believe in her just miraculously reappearing. John then agrees to have dinner the next day. "Charlie" gets frustrated, as he doesn't believe that she's the real Charlie. Baby helps a weak William Afton experiment on Funtime Freddy by heating the room until the amalgamation begins to move. He then injects Funtime Freddy with molten metal from the amalgamation. William tells Baby that it needs to be heated up more, as he tells her that they will become more, just like her.

The next day, "Charlie" goes inside Jessica's apartment without Jessica's knowledge and accidentally scares her when she arrives. She asks Jessica to help her get ready for her dinner with John. Later during the day, "Charlie" meets up with John and have dinner together. John asks "Charlie" questions about her apparent death, to which she answers that she doesn't remember a lot. She also wants to find her Aunt Jen. Later that night, Baby walks to Clay Burke's house and sees John as he was about to leave. After he left, she breaks into Clay's house and nearly kills Clay. "Charlie" later visits Clay at the hospital and overhears John and Jessica's conversation about "Shining Star, Silver Reef," a phrase repeated by Theodore. She stands by the doorway so she can't look at Clay, and asks if he's okay. John tells her he's going to be okay, leaving "Charlie" unconvinced.

"Charlie" secretly follows John's car to Silver Reef, a ghost town near Hurricane, Utah and finds the home of Aunt Jen. She shows up at her house and talks for a bit before she brutally attacks Jen, choking her and ultimately opening her stomach, killing her. "Charlie" goes to the bedroom of the house, where John and Jessica were just in hiding from her, and sees the chest that Charlie was resting in empty. She cleans the blood off her hands and drives off. Baby later asks her father why he wants Charlie, as she doesn't want to continue finding her, since if she brings Charlie to William, she wouldn't have a purpose anymore. William tells her that Henry unintentionally created something special that he desires. He tells her that she isn't enough for him.

Baby (Novel Trilogy) (1)

To continue their search, "Charlie" visits John's apartment, just as he returns with Jessica to attend to Charlie. She didn't find her, as John was able to make her leave by inviting her to go out to dinner again. Later that night, they go out to dinner, and "Charlie" asks him if he has found his old friend in Silver Reef, to which he replies that he has. Since she sees that John is nervous, she calmly kisses him and leaves.

She drives off to Circus Baby's Pizza, where she captures Jessica, who was hiding in the trunk of Baby's car. She takes her inside and ties Jessica up. After Jessica wakes up, Baby talks about herself. She reveals that a part of her is Charlie, as Baby has memories that are connected to her. She then recounts the story of herself, a girl who wanted her father's love and ultimately died to the animatronic he was obsessed with for him. Baby remembers it from two perspectives, from the perspective of the animatronic and the girl. After Jessica unties herself, William reveals himself and tells Jessica that Baby is now doing the dirty work for him, as she's responsible for the children that were reported missing around town. She then forces Jessica to help her do surgery on William. After they were done with the surgery, Baby transforms into Charlie and takes Jessica where the kidnapped children were held captive to be experimented on.

"Charlie" finds Carlton at Jessica's apartment and creepily flirts with him. Carlton turns her down, and "Charlie" tries to kiss him while she slowly transforms back to Baby. Baby's faceplates open to reveal saw blades. Carlton puts the earpieces on and suddenly disappears from her sight since the earpieces make the wearer invisible to animatronics. She's confused about where he went and left after she couldn't find him.

Baby (Novel Trilogy) (2)

"Charlie" returns to Aunt Jen's house and finds John and Charlie trying to run away from her. She orders Charlie to come with her to see their "father", to which Charlie declines. "Charlie" then proceeds to violently attack both Charlie and John; she grabs Charlie by the hair, bringing her tears and throws her against a wall and makes Charlie watch her beat John almost to death. She lets both of them go after Charlie begged to talk to her. "Charlie" reveals her true self to her. Baby then shows her the memories she had when she was a little girl, revealing her difficult childhood. Now known as Elizabeth, she shows memories of Charlie with her father, revealing that she was a ragdoll this whole time. It's revealed that Henry poured his agony into the doll for two months, creating the "spark of life" (bringing the doll to life), that Elizabeth's father is looking for. Henry created a total of four robots, each simulating a stage in life (toddler, child, teen, adult), with Baby representing the adult version of Charlie. Henry stopped working on the fourth one when he realized what he was doing was wrong. That fourth unfinished robot became Baby when William stole it and made it his own. Baby was the unfinished endoskeleton in the corner of Henry's workshop. Baby also reveals that each Charlie robot was built with a different emotion, with the fourth robot being rage. She then rips the Ella ragdoll out of Charlie's chest, revealing it to her.

Baby explains that she feels that she still isn't enough, even though she did everything in her power to feel accepted by her father, but he still wants Charlie instead of her. Charlie then attacks Baby with a paperweight, destroying a part of her face. They start fighting until they end up in a closet that stores the suicide robot. Baby comes near Charlie, and Charlie activates the suicide robot, killing them almost immediately.

Trivia[]

  • In The Silver Eyes: The Graphic Novel, Baby's endoskeleton looks closely identical to Endo-02.
    • Her later endoskeleton in The Fourth Closet: Graphic Novel resembles that of an endoskeleton from the Terminator franchise.
  • The description of Eleanor, the main antagonist of the Fazbear Frights series, is vaguely similar to this version of Baby.
    • Interestingly enough, Eleanor's goal in To Be Beautiful was to steal Sarah's identity much like Baby's goals were to steal Charlie's identity in The Fourth Closet.
  • It's heavily implied that Baby's end goal was to kill Charlie so she could permanently steal her identity.
  • Unlike Baby's main series counterpart in the books, Baby appears more feminine and human-like and has the ability to disguise herself to appear human through illusion discs.
    • Ironically enough in Sister Location, she is unable to disguise herself so she comes up with an elaborate plan to use a human corpse as a skin suit to escape the facility.
