Summary[ | ]

This page contains a list of wing types and parts for the Freighter.

For more detailed info about the Freighter subtypes, see Freighter Types.

In total, there are 16 bow or hull types, three wing shapes, four bridges and five accessories. Depending on the model, one freighter can display multiple parts. The names used are not game based, but are generally accepted by the community.

Capital Freighters[ | ]

Capital freighters appear only in freighter battles and only after the first such battle, which would instead be a system freighter. They are much larger in size, but generally have less cosmetic variation than system freighters.

Hull Types[ | ]

This provides the general appearance of the freighter, known as the silhouette and are used as a naming convention by the community. Each type of capital freighter has three subtypes:

  • Sentinel
  • Battleship
  • Dreadnought
  • Venator
  • Imperial
  • Resurgent

Accessories[ | ]

Capital freighters subtypes can have different accessories:

  • Cargo Boxes
  • Cargo Pods
  • Keel
  • Bottom Fin
  • Top Fin

Bridges[ | ]

Capital freighters come with one of four bridges:

  • Elevated
  • Keiser
  • Spoiler
  • Tower

System Freighters[ | ]

System freighters appear randomly in systems, escorted by frigates and cargo pods. Their parts can largely be divided into 2 sub categories based on whether the cargo section is made up of 1 or 2 layers. The community refers to system freighters by the shapes of their bows.

1 Layer System Freighters[ | ]

1 Layer System Freighters consist of a single layer of cargo sections with a superstructure down their center and large distinctive bow sections.

Bow Types[ | ]

  • Centrifuge
  • Enterprise
  • Galleon
  • Hammerhead
  • Iris
  • Oculus
  • Revolver

The Centrifuge, Iris and Oculus bows may or may not spawn an additional section when combined with cargo sections besides full hulls. This resembles a pair of engines or breaking thrusters on pylons. The Enterprise bow always comes with a small section that appears to match the full hull with a tapered front, even when combined with other cargo section types. The Galleon bow overlaps the adjacent cargo section, partially obscuring it when viewed from above. The Revolver and Hammerhead bows have no special connections to their cargo sections.

Cargo Section Types[ | ]

1 Layer System Freighters have 2 to 5 cargo sections that can be one of 4 types. All of the cargo sections will be the same on these freighters.

  • Full hull
  • Spherical cargo pods (4 per section)
  • Rectangular cargo boxes (4 per section)
  • Tanks with shielding (2 per section)

Wing Types[ | ]

1 Layer System Freighters will have a set of wings at the back, which can be one of 3 types.

  • Starscream Nacelles
  • Wedge Thrusters
  • W-Wings

Accessories[ | ]

1 Layer System Freighters can have either a keel, a bottom fin, or neither.

2 Layer System Freighters[ | ]

2 Layer System Freighters are made up of 2 levels of cargo sections with a superstructure along their starboard side.

Bow Types[ | ]

Many 2 layer freighters don't have a separate bow sections, instead having a small end cap at the front of each layer. The relative length of the two layers, or the presence of an options blade shaped bow section in addition to the end caps, determines how the community refers to these ships.

  • Cargo Overbite ( longer top level )
  • Cargo Underbite ( longer bottom level )
  • Blade ( the top level is always 1/2 cargo section longer than bottom with a large blade and bumper attached in front of the normal end caps )

Cargo Section Types[ | ]

The top level can have 2 to 6 cargo sections while the bottom level can have 1 1/2 to 5 1/2. Each sections can be of a different type or they may all be the same.

  • Full hull
  • Large circular tank (1 per section)
  • Small cylindrical tanks (6 per section)

Note that the half section on the bottom level uses the same types as the full sections, modified slightly to fit the smaller space (i.e. a smaller rectangular hull, 3 small tanks or 2 half sized large tanks).

Accessories[ | ]

2 Layer System Freighters can have either a keel, a bottom fin or neither. Overbite and Blade types may have a top fin attached to the top level's end cap.
