Update: This recipe was originally published in December 2015. I made edits to the article below to include more information about this peppermint drink.

Happy Christmas Eve’s Eve, friends! Hopefully you guys are ready for the big day, because hate to break it to you, but if you aren’t… well, you might not ever be. At least not this year. Which is totally fine! Because, we can be friends who aren’t doing anything together!

Okay, that isn’t entirely true. Boy and I are going out to a romantic dinner tomorrow and then I am going to cook us a nice surf n’ turf meal (in my pajamas) on Christmas. So, we are celebrating… we are just doing it in low key style.

Anyways, since I’m hoping most of you have your menu planned out, I thought it would be a great idea to share a fabulous co*cktail perfect for Christmas or Christmas Eve! *Drum roll please…

About this peppermint holiday co*cktail

Ya’ll this libation is deliciously legit. It is the perfect nightcap as you kickback and enjoy the company of your loved ones, after you have devoured your holiday meal.

This holiday hustler is creamy, smooth, peppermin-tastic, and has the consistency of a thin milkshake.

It tastes exactly like the inside of an Andy’s mint or like a boozy version of a Shamrock Shake.

Not only is this peppermint drink a party for the taste buds, it also is festively fun and gorgeous. Just look at that minty green color!

#SlurpFest.

If you want to get really Christmas-y with it, I suggest adding a candy cane to the glass as a stirrer. And if you really want to indulge, a little whipped cream on top never hurt anybody. 😉

Tips for the best peppermint co*cktail

  1. If you can’t find Peppermint Irish Cream, you can substitute plain Irish Cream and add 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract.
  2. The Crème de menthe is a sweet, mint flavored liqueur, and it’s what gives this co*cktail it’s minty green color, so I do not advise you skip it! However, there areCrème de menthe syrups that you can substitute if you would like, just make sure you are using the green colored variety and NOT the colorless syrup!
  3. While I used Original (plain flavored) Almond Milk in my Peppermint Holiday co*cktail, you can absolutely use regular milk. Or, if you are looking for an even more indulgent, rich drink, you can use half-and-half!

This co*cktail is a fabulous alternative if you are sick and tired of eggnog, or if you are like me and detest eggnog. I urge you to add this Peppermint Holiday co*cktail to the desert portion of your Holiday evening, I pinkie promise you are going to gulp it up!

Until next time, Cheers and warmest wishes for a very Merry Christmas, friends!
