Jabari Manwa is an active member of BROCKHAMPTON in his main role as a music producer for the group.
Occasionally, Manwa provides songwriting and vocals on some of BROCKHAMPTON's songs and appears in some of their music videos such as HEAT, RENTAL, Boy Bye and more.
Music Career[]
Jabari was initially a member of the group back when Kevin Abstract made a post on the Kanye West fan forum, now known as KanyeToThe, asking if anyone browsing wanted to create a band. However, a geographic barrier would stand between this for the time being, as Manwa lived in Grenada, while Abstract was residing in Texas. In 2015, Manwa was let go from the group, which would motivate him to make three beats. These beats would end up becoming the first three BROCKHAMPTON songs ever produced by the group (HERO, BET I, and DIRT). After this, Jabari would become a full-time member of the group, and accompany his fellow bandmates to San Marcos, Texas. His family was initially concerned with him making the move across the Caribbean, but they would eventually permit it, with encouragement from his mother. Manwa would provide production for a good amount of the group's first six projects, boasting production credits on tracks such as SUGAR, J'OUVERT, and HOTTIE.
In 2020, with the group on lockdown together in Los Angeles due to the COVID-19 pandemic, multiple livestreams would be hosted where snippets of unreleased songs would be played. One common thread among these songs is that in addition to production, Jabari would provide autotune crooning on multiple songs. This would continue with the group's next album, ROADRUNNER: NEW LIGHT, NEW MACHINE. Since then, Manwa has been elevated to the level of a primary vocal artist of the group, appearing with them on stage.
Jabari visited the All City Show radio show in October 2021, where he discussed his plans to release solo music in the future under the alias Saga Buoy.

Manwa is one of three members to have lived in a different country, with his home country being Grenada (bearface is from Northern Ireland, while Merlyn Wood spent time in Ghana).
