Working on an organic farm in Thailand has been a transformative experience. At Green Garden Food Forest in Buri Ram, the connection to food and nature was profound. Each day, we harvested and cooked our meals, embracing the beauty of creating teas from scratch. While the process was time-consuming, it highlighted the significance of appreciating the source of our food.It was also hard to deny how alive everything was. The food was straight off a tree on to the plate. The bright colors and the sounds of nature made each day vibrant. From collecting food to swimming in the river, the experience was enriching and poetic. Returning to the UK, I found myself missing the vividness of Thailand but appreciating the simplicity of daily tasks. Reflecting on buying canned soup back home, I realised the convenience and was grateful for the ease. However, the magic of hand-picking fresh produce from cannot be replicated. This experience at Green Up will always hold a special place in my heart. Grateful for the opportunity and the valuable lessons learned. #OrganicFarming #FoodConnection #Gratitude #GreenUpOpportunity

Reflect on this: How feasible would it be for you to switch most of your seafood purchases to eco-labeled products in your country? For those in the US or Europe, this might seem somewhat manageable. However, the scenario is quite different in Japan. With that in mind, my intern, Miyu Fujimoto, and I embarked on a practical experiment to discover the availability of eco-labeled seafood products in local Japanese food retailers. 👉 [https://lnkd.in/gMMTunAX]#SustainableSeafood #EcoLabel #MarineConservation #Sustainability #Japan #ConsumerPower #EnvironmentalAwareness

🌊 Discovering the Ocean's Green Gold: Seaweed's Vital Role in Biodiversity 🌿🌱 Seaweed: It's not just a slimy, mysterious thing that brushes against your ankles during beach holidays. Beneath the waves lies a hidden treasure—a marine superhero that could revolutionize our approach to biodiversity and sustainable living 🌊1. The Unsung Hero of Our Oceans 🌏 Seaweed, often overlooked, is an unsung hero of our oceans. These underwater botanical wonders are more than just a backdrop for mermaid tales—they're essential players in maintaining the delicate balance of marine ecosystems. From coastal kelp forests to the depths of the open sea, seaweed quietly works its magic, providing shelter, food, and oxygen to countless marine species. 🌊2. Nutrient-Rich and Climate-Positive 🌿 Seaweed packs a nutritional punch that Popeye would envy. Rich in vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, it's a superfood that could transform our diets and reduce our reliance on land-based agriculture. But that's not all—seaweed is a climate-positive force. As it grows, it absorbs carbon dioxide, mitigating the effects of climate change. 🌿3. The Guardians of Coastal Biodiversity 🐠 Imagine a bustling underwater city where fish, crustaceans, and other marine critters thrive. Seaweed forests provide this vibrant habitat, acting as nurseries for juvenile fish and safe havens for biodiversity. By carefully managing and harvesting seaweed, we can protect these vital ecosystems and ensure their longevity. Let's make sure we think and protect these dynamic ecosystems more effectively that we have on land 🐚4. A Circular Economy Champion ♻️ Seaweed isn't just a passive bystander—it actively contributes to a circular economy. From cosmetics to biofuel, its applications are diverse. And here's the kicker: seaweed cultivation requires no freshwater, no pesticides, and no arable land. It's a win-win for both the environment and our economy. ♻️5. The Call to Action 📢 Let's champion seaweed! As consumers, let's demand more seaweed-based products on our supermarket shelves. As policymakers, let's create incentives for sustainable seaweed farming. And as ocean lovers, let's spread the word about this green gold beneath the waves. 🌊🌿 Tag someone who needs to know about seaweed's superpowers! Together, we can turn the tide and ensure a thriving, biodiverse ocean for generations to come. 🌊🌿#Seaweed #coast #food #marinealgae #biodiversity #naturebasedsolutions #naturepositive https://lnkd.in/duPV-4r7

In just two decades, countries like Peru have lead the charge to meet Americans’ skyrocketing demand for avocados. We've witnessed firsthand the dramatic increase of the U.S.'s avocado consumption. And, with Peru as a pivotal supplier in this growth, we're not just focused on meeting demand; we're committed to leading the way in sustainable and environmentally responsible importation practices. The question we continuously ask ourselves is: How can we, along with our partners in the U.S., ensure that our love for avocados contributes positively to the planet? We want to continue to deliver our "green gold" while at the same time innovating greener, cleaner ways to bring our avocados to tables worldwide. What are your thoughts on creating a more sustainable future for our global food systems? 🥑🌍#sustainability #avocadosfromPeru #cleaneatinghttps://loom.ly/gUJm7pU

This#WorldWaterDay, we’re proud to celebrate 20 years of Suntory Mizuiku – our next-generation environmental education programme on nature and water. We’ve had 20 incredible years of engaging with passionate children and having them experience the wonder of nature. In the last 5 years, Mizuiku programmes have launched across Thailand, Vietnam, and most recently in New Zealand. Students have learnt about the importance of water conservation and what they can do to pass on the importance of preserving water resources to their peers and communities.💧🌍To date, more than 330,000 students in APAC directly, and many more indirectly, have participated in the programme.Water is the source of all lives on our planet. As a beverage business, water is critical in our aim to enrich the everyday lives of our consumers with high quality products. Today, we celebrate how far we’ve come and how much further we’ll go to protect our water resources and live in harmony with nature. The more we continue#GrowingforGood, the greater our positive impact can be.🏞️🌳#OneSuntory #Sustainability #GrowingGreen
