A "Back-to-School Youth Revival" will be 7 p.m. Aug. 10-12 at Gladewater's First Assembly of God, with guest speakers Kendall and Starla Bridges of Houston.

Newsmakers LONDON (AP) Michael Jackson appeared on his hotel balcony to help keep a fan from committing suicide, police said. The 28-year-old man perched on a parapet across from Jackson's hotel Friday and shouted, "I want to see Michael! I'm going to jump if I don't," according to Press Association, the British national news agency. Police contacted Jackson, and he appeared on his Dorchester Hotel balcony for about two minutes, waving to the man and to fans gathered below, police said. The fan then climbed back inside the building, police said. A police spokesman said the man would appear in magistrate's court today where police would seek an order obliging him to keep the peace.
