This year Colton and I will be attending six wedding, not including our own. Two of which he is in and almost all are out of town. Six weddings! I’m 25 years-old and I swear every season is wedding season lol. Not hating it though because I love weddings. Everything about them.

I love dressing up (clearly), I love the dancing, I love the speeches, and I love watching our friends on their very special day.

Spring weddings particularly, are my favorite! Which makes it ironic that I am getting married in the fall, but that’s a different story lol. I love the soft colors of spring weddings, the laid back feeling they have at them and the weather is always divine. Summer weddings are equally as laid back, but there is something about getting dressed up in Texas in 105 degree weather that doesn’t appeal to me. So spring takes the cake!:)

A few weekends ago, two of our best friends got married in Austin and this little blue Parker dress was the dress that I wore for the occasion! When picking out wedding guest dresses in the springtime, I usually venture towards pinks, baby blue, navy blue, yellows or florals! I also like to follow a few simple rules.

  1. Be sure to dress for the season. For spring & summer weddings, wear lighter shades and pastels. For fall & winter weddings wear more darker tones. Navy blue is perfect for all year round!
  2. Dress of the addressed attire. If you’re not sure how dressy or casual a wedding is going to be, always look at the invitation to see if the bride stated her preference. A good rule of thumb to follow is, if the wedding is during the day or in the earlier afternoon, a more relaxed dress should be just fine. But if the wedding is in the evening, take a more formal/co*cktail attire approach.
  3. Do wear comfortable shoes. There is nothing worse than wearing uncomfortable or new heels to a wedding. Between the dancing, the standing and walking to and from different venues, you’ll want to wear a heel that will last you all night.
  4. Do not wear any variation of white. This one is hard during the spring/summer because white is such an easy color to buy during these months but it is still a big no-no.
  5. Make sure you are comfortable! You’ll be eating, dancing and drinking the night away. The last thing you want to be doing is wearing a dress you do not feel yourself in!
