One of Vogue’s most anticipated restaurants is open in Portland
Portland, Maine is a foodie destination with (in my biased opinion) the best seafood in the country and amazing restaurants all over town. There really is something for everyone, but that also means it can be hard to stand out. Especially nowadays.
That’s why it was such an honor for Twelve to be featured in vogue.
There has been a huge project going on between Munjoy Hill and the Portland waterfront. As the News Center Maine reported, this massive company is taking 10 acres of land and turning it into a mixed-use area. There will be housing, offices, restaurants, etc. One of these restaurants being Twelve.
Twelve, named after its historic location in Building Twelve of what used to be Portland Company where the project is underway, has received a huge and much needed facelift. According to Munjoy Hill News, Building 12 was constructed in 1895. According to News Center Maine, the building itself was taken apart, moved, and reassembled brick by brick.
The restaurant will occupy the first floor of Building 12 with offices and living space above the Munjoy Hill News reports.
Twelve is expected to be a farm-to-table restaurant focused on Maine cuisine. Twelve will be led by chefs Matt Ginn and Colin Wyatt according to Portland Food Map who have impressive resumes including Evo Kitchen & Bar and Eleven Madison Park.
Vogue released earlier this year The most anticipated restaurant openings in the United States in 2022 and Twelve made the list for Portland, Maine. Check out the full article here.
Twelve has been officially open since July 14. They announced on their social media that they will be open Tuesday through Saturday with reservations encouraged and required for the first week of opening. The bar is for walk-ins only and is the only place where you can order a la carte food. They also teased a future open patio. To make a reservation click here. Take a look at the menu here.
Congratulations Twelve! Portland can’t wait to see all you have to offer!
