The Westmorleand Farmers Market – which has been held on Wednesdays since its inception – is now moving to Saturday lunchtime
With news that the parking lot near the Wilhelm Memorial in Portland, which recently hosted the Moreland Farmers’ Market, is now unavailable, organizers have been looking for a new location.
“Our opening day will be on a Saturday – May 21 – from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Changing to being a weekend market is certainly new for us,” market manager Lannie Kali said in late March.
The MFM opened in 2005 in the small car park opposite the Moreland Theater in the Westmoreland area. Needing more space, they moved to the Wells Fargo Bank parking lot, then to space donated for years by Wilhelm’s Portland Memorial to their south parking lot – then their north parking lot – both along SE14th Street . The south parking lot was sold for development a few years ago, and now the second one is too.
On April 9, Kali told THE BEE, “Good news! Our new location is the south parking lot at Westmoreland Park, near the intersection of 23rd Avenue SE and Umatilla Street. nearby where families can picnic and play. in the shade, as well as plentiful parking. We are pleased!”

This is apparently the Wells Fargo Bank car park in Westmoreland. The Market will still be, as previously announced, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when its season begins on May 21.
