How Tight Should My Shapewear Be?

How do I Know if My Shapewear is Too Small?

Shapewear or Faja compression garments should be tight but not too tight that you feel discomfort or restriction in your breathing. Shapewear should feel snug and secure against your skin without causing any rolling or bulges. If you experience this with your shapewear garment, it means its not fitting properly and either too big (loose) or too small (tight). If the shapewear is causing you pain, marking your skin, rolling up or down or you are having trouble taking a deep breath, this means it is too small.

Ourshapewear collections are designed to be comfortable. You will look good AND feel good! We will always be happy to exchange your item to ensure you have a perfect fit.

How to Choose the Right Size Shapewear

How do I Choose the Right Size Shapewear?
Here's some tips for how to find the right size shapewear for men, women and plus size shapewear.
Choose the right size shapewear to look and feel your best, boost body confidence and effective body shaping:

1. Choose your natural waist size for the best fit. Don't size down hoping to get a more dramatic slimming effect as our shapewear is already calculated to reduce your measurements based on your natural waist size. If you choose a smaller size, it will be uncomfortable or impossible to put on. Click here for a Waist Measurement Guide

2. Stand up straight and breathe naturally. Shapewear should feel snug and secure against your body but not so restrictive that if affects you taking a deep breath when standing.

3. Move around and sit. Make sure you can move around and sit comfortably in the shapewear before you go on a night out wearing it. If it's too small, you'll feel uncomfortable and can exchange for a different size. Moving around in new shapewear also allows you to 'break-in' the material, stretching it out and moulding it to your body shape. High / Firm Compression Shapewear and Faja Shapewear is much easier to put on once it is stretched out a little.

4. Choose the loosest setting. If you have an adjustable hook and eye closure shapewear and you are not sure how tight your shapewear should be, it is always best to start with the loosest setting. You will be more comfortable, move around more freely without discomfort and allow your body to get use to the compression. After a week or two, you can decide if you want to move up a hook.
